{"id":1988,"date":"2026-10-09T14:27:17","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T11:27:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alegria-service.com\/?p=1988"},"modified":"2026-10-14T14:33:02","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T11:33:02","slug":"valencian-community-plans-to-recognise-260000-two-child-families-as-large-families","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alegria-service.com\/en\/blog\/immigration\/valencian-community-plans-to-recognise-260000-two-child-families-as-large-families\/","title":{"rendered":"Valencian Community plans to recognise 260,000 families with two children as large families"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The president of the Valencian regional government, Juanfran P\u00e9rez Llorca, has announced plans to introduce the legislative changes needed for around 260,000 families with two children <a href=\"https:\/\/alegria-service.com\/en\/blog\/immigration\/registration-in-spain-faq\/\">living in the region<\/a> to be recognised as large families, \u201cwith all the benefits and support that this entails\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>Balancing work and family responsibilities<\/h2>\n<p>On equality, P\u00e9rez Llorca pledged to promote the region\u2019s first law on work\u2013life balance and shared caring responsibilities, covering flexible working arrangements, remote work and taxation.<\/p>\n<p>He said that \u201creal equality begins at home \u2013 with who <a href=\"https:\/\/alegria-service.com\/en\/blog\/education\/how-to-enroll-child-in-school-in-spain\/\">picks up the children from school<\/a> and who looks after their parents. A law can help ensure that the answer is no longer always the same person\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>More care home places and support for older people<\/h2>\n<p>Turning to care for people who need assistance with daily living, the regional president said he intends to add more than 2,000 care home places by 2030, bringing the total to 9,232. He stated that contracts for 1,825 of these places would be put out to tender this year.<\/p>\n<p>To strengthen care provision, P\u00e9rez Llorca pledged to establish specialist psychogeriatric units in care homes for older people with neurodegenerative diseases.
